After more than two months of conceptualization, drafting, discussion, design and finally coding we are proud to have released our all-new sproof website.
For the redesign we focused on improving the structure of our website and on a consistent and intuitive design. Our new website makes it easier for our customers to navigate through our products and services.
We would like to specially thank Daniel Morawetz and Hannes Wolfmayr who developed the concept and designed and implemented the website. They did an awesome job and the positive feedback is overwhelming.
The website is hosted in cooperation with the Austrian Federal Ministry for Digitalization and Economy and provides information on mobile phone signatures and the Austrian citizen card.
Sign PDFs online with your mobile phone signature
The mobile phone signature is your electronic identity card and signature on the internet. It allows legally secure electronic signing of documents such as contracts, receipts, cancellation notices or forms (in PDF format). Your electronic signature with authorities or in business is just as valid as the handwritten signature. Activation and use of the mobile signature is free of charge. All you need is a cell phone.
Once you have your mobile phone signature, you can use sproof sign to digitally sign any PDF document.
No mobile phone signature yet? No problem! sproof sign offers two other options for PDF signatures: Besides with the mobile phone signature, you can sign your PDF document on the display of your device or upload a signature image.
With sproof sign, the Salzburg-based start-up sproof has launched a digital signature tool. The experts for document certification are hitting a nerve with it. Major customers contacted them even before the official launch.
Clemens Brunner, Fabian Knirsch and Erich Höpoldseder from sproof recognized the need for signing documents and contracts from any location already before Corona. “We have noticed that many are working with the semi-digital method: Print out, sign, scan, e-mail, then send the original by mail to ensure legal compliance, and if there are several signatories, the whole procedure is done in several rounds. With sproof sign, we provide companies with a tool that digitizes this process quickly and easily,” says Erich Höpoldseder.
This company already relies on sproof sign
For ADVOKAT, Austria’s leading provider of software for lawyers, the tool is an ideal addition to its range of services. The pioneer in terms of law firm automation supplies more than 2,200 law firms and companies with its software. ADVOKAT Managing Director Dr. Manfred Wurz: “sproof sign was integrated with our system in a simple way. In the future our customers will be able to collect digital signatures in three simple steps. A practical feature that is in great demand in times of Corona”.
It was important to the software market leader that the electronic signatures have legal validity. “This is given by the mobile phone signature. When it comes to data security, we also use state-of-the-art encryption and servers in the EU,” explains Fabian Knirsch, CTO of sproof.
Corona as a customer magnet
The privacy and security experts at sproof – Clemens Brunner and Fabian Knirsch, both researchers at the Center for Secure Energy Informatics at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences – have developed the new tool in the last months. Given the current crisis, the fact that their idea generated such great interest came as a surprise for the three business partners. “We had actually prepared ourselves for the fact that customer acquisition after the lockdown would be slower, but the opposite is true. Companies have an urgent need for digital signatures and more resources to deal with our product,” says Clemens Brunner.
About sproof sign
With sproof sign, contracts, circulars, or agreements can be signed in all the usual variations, from a manual signature to a digital or legally required official signature. sproof sign automatically takes care of inviting contacts, collecting signatures, and sending automatic reminder emails. At any time, the issuer can retrieve the current status of the signatures already made for a document and save the signed document on his or her PC or server system. For administrations and companies that want to integrate sproof sign into their existing applications via API, sproof offers a cost-effective premium API.
Yesterday was the day: we got to present sproof at the Startup Salzburg Demo Day 2020 in front of a top-class expert jury and a broad audience including investors, founders and other entrepreneurs.
When we joined the Startup Salzburg Factory last year, we knew this was the beginning of something great. After nine months of fine-tuning our ideas, working on our business plan, talking to mentors and networking with relevant stakeholders, we were ready for the highlight of this journey.
Positive feedback from the jury
For the first time, the stage of the Demo Day was online and the event virtual. But thanks to the great organization by Startup Salzburg and derBrutkasten, everything turned out just fine. Almost 200 participants joined in when Fabian Knirsch, CTO of sproof GmbH presented our three-minute-pitch to the audience.
In the prominent jury sat ICT top-manager Eva Wimmers, Clever Clover president Heinrich Prokop, business angel Olav Carlsen, founder Marius Donhauser and investor Franz Fuchsberger. We were more than happy to hear their positive feedback!
Our Startup Salzburg Factory journey
Over the last months, the Startup Salzburg team accompanied us in bringing our business idea to the market. In addition to individual coaching, we were professionally accompanied by our mentor Mag. Gabi Tischler from the Salzburg Chamber of Commerce and got the opportunity to network at exclusive events. We got a lot of feedback and took lots of inspiration from the factory and we are looking forward to the time after the factory.
Meet us at the biggest Startup Ecosystem Event in the Salzburg and Upper Bavaria area hosted by der brutkasten. Be there on 26 May 2020 when we pitch together with eight other selected startups from Austria and Bavaria online. Experience a digital exchange with us in the virtual Startup Expo!
